Privacy Policy

- No account, no sign-in, no ads and no advertising ID.
- The chart images you choose to analyze, plus your optional onboarding answers, are sent to Google's Gemini AI models only to generate your analysis.
- Your analysis history is stored only on your device.
- I use Firebase (Analytics, App Check, Remote Config) to understand app usage and keep the service secure, and RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. None of this is linked to your name or email, and none of it is used for advertising.
- I never sell your data.
('I', 'me', 'we') refers to the software developer who developed this application. I built the Chart AI - Trading Analysis app for iPhone and Android. This SERVICE is provided by me and is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform users regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service.
If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
Chart AI does not require an account. You never need to provide a name, email address, phone number or any other personally identifiable information to use the app, and I do not ask for it.
What you send for analysis
When you scan a chart, the app sends the following to Google's Gemini AI models to generate your analysis:
- The chart image: the screenshot or photo you choose from your photo library or take with your camera. Only the images you pick are sent. The app never browses or uploads your photo library on its own.
- Your optional onboarding answers: trading experience, preferred market, trading style and preferred level of detail. These help tailor the analysis to you.
- Your app language, so the analysis is written in your language.
These requests go through Firebase AI Logic, a Google service. The main route is the Gemini Developer API, with Google Cloud Vertex AI used as a backup route if the main one is unavailable. This data is used solely to generate your analysis. I do not use it to identify you, I do not sell it, and I do not use it for advertising. Google processes it under its own terms: see the Google Privacy Policy and the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service.
Please avoid including personal information (for example your name, account numbers or balances) in the screenshots you analyze. Crop or hide it if needed.
Data stored on your device
Your analysis history (the charts you scanned and the results) and your settings and onboarding answers are kept in local storage on your device (a local SQLite database and app preferences). This history is not uploaded to any server I operate. I cannot see it, and I cannot recover it for you. Deleting the app deletes it. On iPhone, your device's own backups (for example iCloud Backup) may include app data, according to your Apple settings.
Firebase services
The app uses the following services from Google Firebase (Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited):
Firebase App Check
App Check verifies that requests to the AI service come from the genuine Chart AI app on a real device, and not from a modified app or a script. It does this with device attestation from Apple App Attest (iOS) or Google Play Integrity (Android). This protects the service from abuse. It is not used to identify you or for advertising.
Google Analytics for Firebase
I use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used so I can improve it. It collects:
- An app instance ID: a random identifier created for this installation of the app.
- Approximate (coarse) location, such as country or city, derived by Google from your IP address. The app does not collect precise GPS location.
- Device and OS information: device model, operating system and version, app version, language and similar technical details.
- App usage events: for example onboarding steps completed, screens viewed, chart scans started and completed, paywall views, and purchase events (such as starting a trial or subscribing).
Analytics data is not linked to your name or email (the app never has them). It is not used for advertising or to track you across other apps or websites, and all advertising-related consent signals (ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization) are disabled in the app. The app does not collect the advertising ID (IDFA / GAID).
Firebase Remote Config
Remote Config lets the app fetch its configuration from Firebase, for example which AI model to use, without needing an app update. To do this it uses the app instance ID. It does not collect any other personal information.

Data processing for in-app purchases
Chart AI offers an optional Chart AI Pro subscription (weekly or yearly, the weekly plan may include a free trial where offered).
Apple App Store and Google Play
Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). I never receive or store your name, email, card number or billing address. Your purchase is subject to the privacy policy of the store you use: Apple Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
RevenueCat
To validate purchases and unlock Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, Inc., a subscription management service that acts as a data processor on my behalf. RevenueCat receives:
- An anonymous app user ID generated randomly by the RevenueCat SDK on your device. It is not tied to your name, email or Apple / Google account.
- Purchase and receipt data: the Apple transaction or Google Play purchase token, product, price, currency, purchase and expiry dates, and trial and renewal status.
- The Firebase app instance ID, so that purchases can be measured in my Firebase Analytics reports (for example, how many people who finished onboarding started a trial).
- Technical information: device model, OS version, app version, store country and the IP address that any network connection necessarily exposes.
This information is used only to confirm what you have purchased, unlock Pro, restore purchases, prevent fraud and measure subscriptions in aggregate. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. More information: RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Permissions
- Camera: only used when you choose to take a photo of a chart.
- Photo library: only used when you choose a chart screenshot to analyze. Only the image you pick is accessed.
- Billing (Android) lets you buy Pro through Google Play.
The app does not use your microphone, contacts or precise location.
Analytics and Advertising
Chart AI contains no advertising and does not use advertising identifiers. Analytics is used only as described above, to understand and improve the app. I do not track you across apps or websites, and I do not sell or share your personal information for advertising.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. The Chart AI app does not use browser cookies, and this website does not set any.
Service Providers
The third-party service providers used by the app are Google (Firebase AI Logic / Gemini, App Check, Analytics and Remote Config), RevenueCat, and Apple and Google as the app stores and payment processors. If this changes in a way that affects your data, this policy will be updated.
Data Retention and Deletion
- On-device data: your analysis history and settings stay on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them.
- Analytics data: kept according to Google Analytics retention settings, for up to 14 months, and then deleted automatically.
- AI requests: chart images and answers are sent only to generate your analysis. I do not store them on any server of my own. Google may retain them for a limited time under the Gemini API terms.
- RevenueCat purchase records: kept while needed to provide your purchases and for legal, tax and fraud-prevention purposes.
To request deletion of data held by Firebase or RevenueCat, email me. Because the identifiers are anonymous, please include any details that help me find your records (for example your Apple order ID or Google order number). Note that Apple and Google keep their own transaction records under their own policies.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. I do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact me using the details below. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
I value your trust, and I use commercially acceptable means to protect your information. All communication between the app and Google, Firebase and RevenueCat is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and App Check helps block unauthorized access to the AI service. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children's Privacy
This Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. The app is intended for adult traders. I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has provided personal data, please contact me and I will take steps to delete it.
Not Financial Advice
Chart AI is an educational tool. Its analysis is generated by AI and may be incomplete or wrong. Nothing in the app is financial, investment or trading advice, and no result is a guarantee of future performance. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions. Links to Other Sites
This Service may contain links to other sites, such as the Apple, Google and RevenueCat privacy policies. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. These external sites are not operated by me, so I strongly advise you to review their privacy policies. I have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Any change that affects how your data is collected or shared will be posted here before it takes effect.
